CAD Designer/Drafter

Overview

MFS is seeking a Designer to work in our innovative, highly respected, and dynamic consulting firm in the engineering and construction industry. This position is based in our San Juan, Puerto Rico office. The successful candidate will perform a broad variety of drafting duties utilizing Computer-Aided Design/Drafting (CADD). The Designer is responsible for performing CAD for engineering and surveying projects.

This position is not remote.

A successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed.

You may be required to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets drawings
  • Performs survey and drafting operations
  • Researches and compiles records and field data for preparation of land survey plans
  • Develops and drafts engineering plans and drawings
  • Performs routine AutoCAD and computer software maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Maintains updated working and technical knowledge of all enhancements and procedural changes to software and hardware applications
  • Follows MFS’ standards
  • Any other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Continually required to stand, walk, and sit
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk or hear
  • Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate office equipment
  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry items less than 25 pounds

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
  • Knowledge of current CADD drafting methods and various CADD standards
  • Skill in operating all AutoCAD software and equipment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Ability to understand and follow highly complex written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and drawing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Reliable means of transportation
  • Certificate of Good Standing

Preferences

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English is highly desired
