Senior Inspector A-II/N-III (with DDC sewer and water experience)

Overview

Looking for a driven, career-minded individual to fill our full-time Senior Inspector A-II/N-III position in our Geotechnical Engineering division. This position is based out of the project field office in Queens, NY.

Candidate is required to have water and sewer inspection experience. This position is non-exempt.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily field inspections.
  • Develop daily field inspection reports.
  • Able to read construction documents including approved drawings, specifications and all other documents related to the project.
  • Inspect work performed by general contractor and subcontractors to verify that work is performed in accordance with contract plans and specifications, approved shop drawings and approved work plans.

  • Continually required to talk or hear
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate office and field equipment
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, and push items up to 20 pounds

Environmental Factors:

  • Approximately 70% of work will be performed in an external environment, on site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature working under norm construction conditions.
  • Approximately 30% of work will be performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal engineering office conditions.

Experience

  • B.S. from an accredited college and 3 years of experience in construction inspection or management on infrastructure construction projects (highway/sewer/water) OR high school diploma or its educational equivalent and 10 years of experience in construction inspection or management of infrastructure construction projects (highway/sewer/water).
  • Current water main inspection certification card certifying successful completion of the DDC Water Main Training Program
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
  • Undergo a background check (required)

Salary: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Preferences

  • Up to date OSHA training
