These prestigious awards recognize innovative and impactful construction initiatives that significantly contribute to New Jersey’s economy and highlight the collaboration between organizations to ensure project success.
MFS Engineers & Surveyors was honored for its contributions to the Rehabilitation of Center Avenue & Lemoine Avenue Bridges and the Route 15 & Berkshire Valley Road Improvements projects.
Award-Winning Projects:
Rehabilitation of Center Avenue & Lemoine Avenue Bridges
As part of the Port Authority of NY & NJ’s initiative to enhance critical infrastructure, MFS Consulting Engineers & Surveyor, DPC provided structural engineering services for the PSE&G utility crossing during the Lemoine Avenue Bridge replacement in Fort Lee, NJ. The MFS Structural Design Team developed construction documents for a 400-ft long, 13/26 kV electrical conduit crossing, incorporating twelve 5” diameter fiberglass conduits beneath the bridge. MFS designed the conduit hanger supports and their attachment to the bridge diaphragms, developed construction drawings with detailed framing plans, sections, and connection details. Upon the successful completion of the design phase, MFS played a vital role in construction administration, ensuring its successful implementation.
Route 15 & Berkshire Valley Road Improvements
In collaboration with Greenman Pedersen Inc, MFS Engineers & Surveyors played a key role in the NJDOT Route 15 & Berkshire Valley Road Intersection Improvements project. The team provided topographic base mapping services, establishing primary and secondary control points and conducting a comprehensive topographic survey using a combination of conventional surveying and 3D laser scanning. Field crews meticulously documented surface features, elevation data, and underground utility evidence, aligning the findings with the project’s survey baseline. MFS also performed a title search and developed a title summary for ROW submissions, while creating base maps that integrated NJDOT record information and field-measured points to accurately reestablish the roadway centerline. Additionally, a boundary survey was conducted to assist with property acquisitions, ensuring a seamless project execution.
