Project Overview

MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided geotechnical engineering services in support of COWI Marine North America for the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) Brooklyn Naval Yards Pier C Reconstruction Project.

Project Details

The project consisted of the demolition of an existing pier, which had significantly deteriorated, and the reconstruction of a new pier with an approximate footprint of 690 feet by 82 feet. The new pier was planned to be constructed on approximately 133 driven steel pipe piles. MFS provided field oversight during the subsurface investigation, prepared a geotechnical engineering report, provided special inspection services during the dynamic load testing program, and provided consulting services during construction.
