McGuire Air Force Base Equipment Pad Design
- Owner: McGuire Air Force Base
- Completed: June 2022
- Services: Structural Engineering
MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided structural engineering services in support of the Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst: McGuire Air Force Base Project located in Burlington County, New Jersey. The overall project was comprised of the installation of rooftop photovoltaic systems for seven building locations, Building #3403, 3322, 3336, 3101, 3001, 2253, and 2201.
MFS’s structural team provided the concrete equipment pad design to house the rooftop photovoltaic array equipment for the seven buildings. All base loads, equipment weights, and equipment layouts were provided to MFS for the concrete pad designs. Additionally, MFS determined a required bearing capacity based on the pad loading for each location, which was needed to be verified by the contractor on the field.
MFS performed all structural design calculations and prepared Final Construction Documents signed and sealed by a New Jersey Professional Engineer including construction notes, concrete pad plans, sections, and structural details.
