The Whitby Hotel at West 56th Excavation

MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional land survey services to Domani Inspection Services, Inc. for the optical monitoring of buildings at a construction site in Manhattan. The construction site is located at 18-22 West 56th Street, New York, New York. Flintlock Construction Services, LLC constructed a 16 story high-rise hotel, which had a four story deep basement. The construction of the basement required extensive excavation and underpinning of the adjacent buildings. Flintlock retained the services of Domani to provide monitoring of adjacent buildings and landmark buildings within 90 feet of the construction site. MFS as a sub consultant to Domani provided optical monitoring surveys of the adjacent buildings and landmark buildings. The optical monitoring surveys were performed in accordance with New York City Department of Buildings, Technical Policy and Procedures Notice #10/88.
