Project Details

MFS performed a topographic survey from curb lines to the rear property line of the properties. Elevations were based on NAVD1988 datum as determined by RTK GPS methods. A height conversion from NAVD1988 to Borough of Bronx datum were provided. MFS performed a field survey to locate physical features, such as building, curb lines, drives, sidewalks, fences, walls, ramps, canopies, street trees, street furniture, etc. Spot elevations were determined at regular intervals though out the project limits.. The spot elevations were used to create a Civil3D surface, from which contours at a one-foot interval were generated.

MFS’s survey team located surface utilities such as manholes, catch basins, headwalls, valve covers, utility/light poles, hydrants, etc., and surveyed the locations of sanitary manholes within the project limits and to the next manhole beyond. MFS determined pipe size and invert elevations of the sanitary pipes direction of flow was indicated. Distances from manhole to property lines and next manholes were labeled.

Subsurface utilities such as water, gas, electric and communication were depicted based on surface features and available mapping. The surface utilities, record maps and any existing markout were used to depict the subsurface utility locations.
