Project Details

MFS’ scope of work consisted of evaluating the existing conditions of the structural slab supporting the Radiology Center above the generator room to allow for construction.

An existing crack was found within the structural slab above the generator room within the Radiology Center. As assessment of the slab was required in order to permanently shore the slab to adequately support the live and equipment loads and to allow construction work to replace the existing generator room equipment.

MFS’ services included structural assessment and analysis including concrete core drilling and windsor probe testing to determine the concrete compressive strength, non-destructive testing including metal detection and ground penetrating radar to determine rebar sizes and spacing, concrete depth, and any existing voids, and structural analysis of the existing reinforced concrete floor slab to determine its allowable capacity. A comprehensive final structural assessment report providing our investigative findings and recommendations was provided to the Client.
