MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional structural engineering services for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) LaGuardia Airport (LGA) Terminal Replacement project located in Queens, New York.

Project Details

The MFS Structural Engineering team provided a structural analysis of the existing Central Terminal Building throughout the various stages of demolition, and provided necessary shoring design to maintain stability of the structure at the demolition cut lines. Additionally, MFS provided Structural Scope of Work drawings to support the demolition of the existing structure, which delineated the scope and limits of the demolition. Two (2) different contracts were awarded to MFS which included the demolition of the entire Central Terminal Building with multiple transitional demolition cut lines at various sections of the building. These cut lines allowed for simultaneous construction phasing of the new connecting bridges between the new Head House and Concourses.
