MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided surveying services for the New York City Economic Development Corporation Pier 76 Rehabilitation Project located on 12th Avenue, directly adjacent to the Jacob Javitz Convention Center. According to Hudson River Park Trust, the aging Pier, which houses a high-level concrete structure currently used as an NYPD Tow Pound, is planned to be partially reclaimed for public use if the City is able to find an appropriate relocation site for the Tow Pound.

A previous evaluation indicated that the Pier was in need of repairs to the structural pile encasements, concrete extensions, crib wall repairs, and repairs to the fender and wale system around the Pier Perimeter. MFS was retained by MidAtlantic Engineering Partners to support the project through field surveying and an investigation. MFS performed a survey that located the interior and exterior faces of the outer and dividing walls, the building columns, railings, cleats and other features that were permanently mounted to the concrete deck, obtaining deck/floor elevations at regular intervals.
