MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional land surveying services in support of Camp Dresser McKee & Smith (CDM Smith)’s project with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Environmental Remediation (NYSDEC) project located at the Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant sites located in Bethpage, New York.

Horizontal and vertical control were established in the field by RTK GPS. Horizontal coordinates for the surveys were based on New York State Plane Long Island Coordinate System (NAD83). The Horizontal Accuracy were within the nearest 0.1 foot. Elevations were based on NAVD88 datum. All measurements were reported as US Survey Feet.

MFS surveyed a total of 42 monitoring wells in the vicinity of ECHC-04, DECHC-02, and DECHC-06. Two sets (separated by minimum of 4 hours) of RTK observations were taken at the top of the inner casing of each monitoring well. The average of the two observed elevations were used as the inner casing elevation.
