MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional land surveying services in support of the design efforts for the Town of Greenbush – Third Avenue and Barracks Road Pump Station Upgrade project located in the Town of Greenbush, New York. These services included topographic, boundary, and utility surveys.
MFS performed a survey to locate the physical features, such as, the exterior walls of the building, doorways, walkways, ramps, stairs, walls, curbs, fences, gates, signs, street furniture, pavement markings, etc. MFS obtained spot elevations at intervals of 25’ sufficient to develop contours at an interval of one foot.
MFS located surface utilities such as manholes, catch basins, headwalls, valve covers, utility/light poles, hydrants, etc. For storm drains and sanitary sewers, MFS obtained measurements to determine inverts and pipe sizes at accessible manholes and catch basins.
MFS performed a boundary survey to determine the locations of property and right-of-way lines. Deed searches were performed to obtain the record deed of the properties within the project limits.
Subsurface utility engineering (SUE) was performed using by our technicians. They utilized a suite of utility locating instruments having differing frequencies and power settings to detect and follow locatable utility systems within the project site. The instruments had the full gamut of characteristics to enable passive signal detection, and active signal application by induction, direct connecting, and inductive clamping. The located utilities were marked-out by painting the approximate center lines on the ground surfaces at reasonable distances. Paint and flags were in accordance with the APWA uniform color code guidelines when applicable.
Field sketches were provided to assist in identifying the utility mark out, which MFS located.
