MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional land surveying services in support of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYC Parks) Orchard Beach Skate Park project located at Orchard Beach, Bronx, NY. MFS was obtained by MKW + Associates, LLC (MKW) to provide survey services in support of their landscape architectural project

MFS performed a field survey to locate physical features, such as, structures, buildings, walls, curb, drives, sidewalks, pathways, ramps, stairs, handrails, fences, benches, signs, tree wells, street furniture, etc. Spot elevations were determined at regular intervals sufficient to develop contours at a one-foot interval. Spot elevations were obtained at grade breaks, high/low points, top/bottom of curb and walls, crown of road, corners of pavement and curbs, edges of paved areas/walks/etc.

MFS located surface utilities such as manholes, catch basins, headwalls, pipe ends, valve covers, utility/light/traffic poles, hydrants, chamber tops, etc. For storm drains and sanitary sewers MFS obtained measurements to determine inverts and pipe sizes at accessible manholes / catch basins.

Subsurface utilities such as water, gas, electric and communication were depicted based on surface features and available record mapping. MFS contacted NYC One Call to make a design ticket request.
