MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided structural engineering services for the Schuylkill River Park Extension – Three Span Concrete Cable-Stayed Bridge project in Philadelphia, PA. The project involved the design and construction of an access ladder system to the bridge towers, requiring a design and analysis of the rope access system at the top of the tower structure.
MFS was responsible for reviewing the shop drawings and conducting a structural analysis of the access ladder and rope access system to ensure compliance with the Engineer of Record’s requirement that all tower access ladder components, including rope access points and grab handles, support a 5,000-pound load. The firm performed detailed calculations to verify the structural integrity of these elements and provided a Professional Engineer seal and signature on the shop drawings and the calculations report.
