MFS Engineers & Surveyors provided professional engineering services for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Restoration to the Astoria Houses project in Queens, New York and the Governor Alfred E. Smith Houses project in New York, New York.

For the Astoria Houses, the construction consisted of comprehensive upgrades to areas and buildings damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The NYCHA Astoria House property was the site of twenty-two, 6-story buildings. MFS's scope of work for the project was related to the support of excavation design for the proposed construction of flood barriers and sump pits at the existing Buildings numbered 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 21, 22, and 23.

The project for the Smith houses involved multiple city blocks consisting of multi-family residential unit buildings. The existing NYCHA Smith Houses property is the site of twelve, 16-story buildings. The MFS scope of work for the project was associated with to the support of excavation (SOE) and pedestrian phasing for the proposed construction of flood barriers and sump pits at the existing Buildings numbered 1, 2, 4, and 5.
